Assist in repairing and improving walls surface in and outside the classrooms that includes painting.
Assist in preparing teaching aid (drawing symbols/letters that will simplify reading and learning for pupils.)
Assist in school compound Landscaping and Greening (Planting trees, flowers, shrubbery, creating gardens, and managing natural areas).
Assist in organizing extra-curricular activities to the kids and teenagers (7-17 years old) after school hours in school compound or at the children’s center. This includes sports, games, arts, crafts, teaching English language and remedial classes activities.
Accommodation and food:
Accommodation will be at the community residential house. Volunteers are expecting to share rooms. There is also option of camping outside especially when received good number of volunteers. Three meals will be provided at accommodation where volunteers will actively enjoy participation on meals preparation, dish washing and kitchen cleaning. Vegetarian meals will be available.
Location and leisure:
The word "Marangu" means a place with many water streams. It is one of the most popular places in Tanzania. Located at the foot of Africa's tallest mountain, the quaint village of Marangu offers fascinating insight into both modern Tanzanian life and into the lives of the Chagga people who once withstood vicious Masai raids through the ingenious use of tunnels. Residents of Marangu are coffee and banana farmers. Plantations and natural vegetations has been keeping the area green throughout the year. Tourism is also one of the major activities that contribute significantly to the economy of the area. The community is located about 40km east of Moshi town the capital of Kilimanjaro, it is accessible through private and public transport. Social services including markets, shops, banks, health facilities are available in the community. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are free, however, volunteers are advised to have an allowance of extra 2-3 days before or after the project to enjoy what this part of the country offer in terms of cultural and natural attractions. Options for leisure activities includes; Wild-life safari (Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Tarangire National parks); Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro trekking, eco and cultural tourism among many others.

Uvikiuta is a youth development organization that values volunteerism as a tool to promote and enhance peace, solidarity and sustainable development. The organization was found in 1983 under the patronage of the late Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere, first president of the United Republic of Tanzania through the famous policy known as “Nguvu kazi”, which called the needs of young men and women to raise their living standards through developing and enhancing social and economic capacities.
