Get involved by collaborating with the team of local volunteers to set up the installations, run the stands, cook, and contribute to the success of the fair! This job requires technical skills, physical strength, and organization. Your role will involve helping to set up and dismantle stalls, tents and marquees. You will contribute to the signage, the traffic plan, and the layout. Take care of general fair logistics, including cooking and cleaning. Run stands such as the bar, pancake stand and much more. Please note that, during the first and last weeks, the work will be particularly physical, with heavy lifting and busy days. Accept the challenge and live this memorable medieval experience!
Accomodation and food
Your collective dormitory will be in a municipal building. Food is provided, and volunteers take it in turns to prepare meals in a permanent kitchen. Lunchtime meals are taken with the other festival volunteers. Bring your best recipes with you!
Location and leisure
Location: Souvigny.
Leisure: Leisure time is organized collectively with the whole group. During the second week and at weekends, you will be busy with the fair. You will therefore discover the region in the last week. You will have the chance to take part in concerts, workshops, exhibitions, and other events organized in conjunction with the fair!
Project hosted by
A time journey is waiting for your help to transform a village into a medieval fair! Now in its 30th year, the Souvigny Grand Site association organises the medieval fair, which attracts over 30,000 visitors every year. For nine days, the village is transformed into a vibrant display of troubadours and acrobats. Amateur and professional troupes perform on stage. An international workcamp has been set up to help create the event and share the traditions of French medieval culture. Explore a variety of stalls and attractions, including music, theatre, juggling, fire artists, tightrope walkers, hawks and horses, craftsmen at work, living encampments, blacksmithing, cooking and tents. Join us as we bring the past to life and create unforgettable medieval memories!
