Work description

The municipality of Caussols, rich in its rural history and ancient remains, wishes to restore its historic communication routes. Today, a section of the ancient Roman road requires work to restore its original structure and former appearance.127919; Your mission: to help build a dry stone calade on a section of the ancient Roman road. This work helps preserve an emblematic element of local history and vernacular architecture.128736;65039; The work to be done: Supervised by a technical supervisor, you will be introduced to traditional skills. You will learn to sort stones, prepare the ground, and organize the implementation to guarantee the stability of the work on this millennial path.

Accommodation

Throughout the duration of the project, you will be staying in tents on a plot of land adjacent to the town hall, in the heart of the plateau.129749; The municipality provides a permanent kitchen for meal preparation. Volunteers will prepare meals collectively, encouraging moments of sharing and friendliness.This style of accommodation, between sky and earth, allows for total immersion in the exceptional environment of Caussols while strengthening group cohesion.

Location and leisure

You can visit (subject to availability) the Cote d Azur Observatory located on the Calern plateau.129406; Karst Hiking: Explore the geological curiosities of the plateau, the clapas (stone piles) and bories (dry stone huts). The trails offer plunging views of the French Riviera.129472; Local produce: Discover local livestock farming and the production of goat or sheep cheese directly from the producers on the plateau.
