Work
Volunteers will support socio-educational workshops and leisure activities during summer camps/educational workshops for
the wider community. The activities will take place mainly in the mornings (from 9.00 to 12.30) and some afternoons for
coordination and planning activities (max. 3 afternoon meetings of 2 hours). This year's summer camp of September will work
on the summer learning loss, by using a game-based methodology. It tackles transversal themes as environmental issues,
upcycling, knowledge of nature. International and local volunteers will work on thematic daily workshops, to explore in a playful
way contents connected to school curriculum. Then they will also work on artistic and transversal skills.
Accommodation and food
The accommodation will be organised in a community facility owned by the municipality (the space of a school gyms) with
access to toilets and showers. There are 2 showers and 3 toilets. In such a facility there will be camping mats. Volunteers need
to bring their own sleeping bags. If volunteers prefer to sleep outside these facilities, they have to bring their own tents. (tents
are not provided). A small fridge and a camp kitchen with two stoves will be set up to prepare breakfast or heat small dishes.
In general, main meals will be provided by the food service in individual portions ( respecting food intolerances and special
dietary requirements, which must be notified in advance). Volunteers are asked to follow the suggested menus, which also
respect local culinary traditions to avoid wastage..
NO INTERNET in the accommodation, however, the internet access is available at the Association office. Water is drinkable,
but may not be recommended if there has been prolonged drought in the months prior to camp. It is recommended to have a
refillable bottle anyway.
There are no washing machines or 24-hour laundries in the town, but soap and washbasins are provided for washing.
