Different works are to be done to maintain the place. Your help is needed to paint, to build, to repair, to do anything what is necessary on the farm. This could involve re-whitewashing the stables, working on the flower beds or gardening on the grounds or repainting the rooms. Please be open for any kind of work! It is very important to bring clothing for rainy weather, as a lot of the work will be outside!
Although the farm itself is aimed at children and teenagers, you will not work with children!
Accomodation and food
Accommodation:
You will live in rooms for 4-6 people. You don’t need to need to bring a sleeping bag with you, bed linen will be provided.
Food:
The group will have its own kitchen, where you have the chance to cook for yourselves. Please bring recipes and special ingredients such as spices from your home country for some culinary exchange.
Location and leisure
Leisure Time:
You decide in group on the free time activities. There is a lot to keep you busy during your free time, for example:
* Swimming, playing volleyball or football.
* You can rent bicycles, boats, and sport and leisure equipment.
* Visit Frankfurt/Oder, perhaps Poland (please check beforehand if you need a passport!) or Berlin
* BBQ, campfire and night hiking.
In this camp you have to be able to ride a bike!
Project hosted by
Beeskow is situated not too far from Frankfurt/Oder and 60 km south from Berlin. It is surrounded by lakes and forests. Beeskow is a rather small place not far away from the famous Spreewald.
The "Kinder- und Jugendhof" is a farm for children and teenagers. Groups and families come there on holiday, for school trips etc. There is a wide variety of sports and creative activities and many other activities such as baking bread, rallies, campfires, etc. On the farm there are animals like a pony, sheep, donkeys, bees etc.
Directions to meeting point
After arriving in Berlin please look for an S- and U-Bahn map to make travelling in Berlin easier. You can also check here: www.bvg.de or download the BVG app. First you have to go to the S-Bahn station Berlin-Lichtenberg or Königs Wusterhausen in the south of Berlin.
From Berlin-Lichtenberg or Königs Wusterhausen take a train in the direction of Frankfurt/Oder; get off at Beeskow.
There will be a Whatsappchat latest a week before the project for easy communication.
