The main role of the volunteers is to conduct non-formal English classes and organize fun activities for students aged 7 to 15. Volunteers will work in groups of at least 2–3 per class, with around three classes each day. In addition, extra activities will be arranged for the students during their free time and/or in the evening. Volunteers will also take part in community activities, such as sports competitions and potluck gatherings, which help strengthen relationships between the school, students, and local residents.
Requirements: The volunteers should be ready to stay in a local area, and to adapt to the local conditions with only basic facilities. Be prepared of the kids’ poor English skills. Volunteers should be able to be with the kids and prepare some games and materials for activities.
Accommodation: Volunteers will sleep in the classroom. There will be only some yoga mats, pillows, and mosquito nets. We suggest you bring your own sleeping bag, inflatable mattress, or another yoga mat. It’s ok if you don’t bring any of those, but you need to be sure that you will be comfortable in such condition. There are basic toilets, showers and a kitchen at the school canteen.
