Project and work :
Discover the charming village of La Chapelle-en-Serval and take part in an exciting project to create a new passageway to the community hall!
In a spirit of openness and shared space enhancement, La Chapelle-en-Serval partners with Concordia to host an international youth volunteer workcamp.
The goal of the current project is to create a passageway to the community hall, a central gathering place for the town. On the agenda : dismantling a stone wall to create an opening, masonry work for the new passage, building a step and path using the recovered stones.
A rewarding experience blending craftsmanship, creativity, and intercultural exchanges!
Accommodation and meals:
You’ll stay in tents at the town’s communal stadium, where a large tent (marabout) will serve as your living and dining area. Showers will be available in the stadium’s locker rooms.
Life at the camp will be all about teamwork: you’ll share daily tasks and prepare meals together. The animation team will manage the budget, and you’ll take part in the shopping and meal preparation, focusing on healthy and locally sourced products.
Partner :
With its picturesque landscapes and remarkable heritage, La Chapelle-en-Serval provides the perfect environment for community engagement.
La Chapelle-en-Serval, located in the Oise department, is a dynamic and committed community actively working to preserve and enhance its heritage and public spaces. The town partners with Concordia to develop restoration and improvement projects, founded on shared values: engaging young people in local initiatives and fostering intercultural connections.
Thus, the workcamp reflects the town's dedication to combining efforts to improve the residents' quality of life. The municipality is deeply involved, offering a warm welcome to our volunteers each year.
Geographical location and leisure activities :
La Chapelle-en-Serval is nestled in the heart of the Oise department, between the towns of Senlis and Chantilly, and just 40 km from Paris. This prime location offers easy access to a variety of natural and cultural landmarks. The surrounding forests, including the famous Chantilly Forest, are perfect for hiking and cycling. The region is also renowned for its historical treasures, such as the Château de Chantilly and the Royaumont Abbey, both nearby.
During your stay, activities will be organized to help you explore the rich cultural and natural heritage of the area. You'll also have the chance to connect with the locals, enjoy moments of shared conviviality and engage with children at the town’s leisure center, fostering meaningful exchanges throughout your stay. Whether you're a heritage enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply curious about engaging with a local community, La Chapelle-en-Serval is sure to charm you.
As a special highlight, you'll have the opportunity to attend the town's fireworks during the Bastille Day celebrations on July 14th.
Warning : While a day trip to Paris may be scheduled, the primary focus of the work camp remains the community project and local engagement.
