Description: SCI Hong Kong is launching an exciting global education initiative in partnership with five local secondary schools. Our goal is to broaden the horizons of young people in Hong Kong, fostering greater global understanding, creativity, and personal growth. To achieve this, we are organizing a special capacity-building training camp for students, centered on the powerful concept of the Human Library.
Work description: Participate in a three-day, two-night residential training program (over a weekend) for 40 secondary school students.
As a "Human Book," engage students in dialogue-based sessions at one of three human libraries set up in partner schools.
Assist facilitators in running non-formal education activities (e.g., icebreakers, group discussions, cultural exchange activities) during the camp.
Help create a supportive, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for all participants.
Requirements: We are looking for enthusiastic and open-minded volunteers to become the heart of this project by serving as "Human Books." In this unique role, you will share your personal story, experiences, and insights about your background, country, or culture with small groups of students. You are not lecturing; you are having a genuine, respectful conversation that breaks down stereotypes and builds bridges of understanding.
Accommodation and food: Volunteers will be accommodated at a youth hostel with dormitories and shared bathrooms.
