You will participate in the construction of solar showers. Following collective reflection and discussion with people knowledgeable about eco-friendly facilities and wood construction, you will implement the collectively developed construction plan to build the shower stalls and the solar water heating system.
This project will allow you to develop teamwork and construction skills while applying safety practices (gloves, goggles). The progress of the project will be monitored by a technical leader to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently so that you can enjoy the "SunShowers" at the end of your stay.
Accomodation and food
The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodated on the REV site in a collective tent (remember to bring a warm sleeping bag). You will have access to sanitary facilities close to the camp. Moreover, if weather conditions deteriorate too much for camping, we will set up indoor accommodation for the duration of the bad weather. Meals will be provided by the REV and cooked in turn by the participants. Please note that you will have two meat meals per week.
Location and leisure
Localisation : The project will take place at the permanent headquarters of the Réseau d’Entraide Volontaire (REV), a former summer camp located at an altitude of 1,200 meters. The building is situated at the foot of Mount Lozère, in the heart of the Cévennes National Park. Since its establishment in the spring of 2022, the association has been developing a place for people to stay, exchange ideas, and meet
Leisure: Far from the French metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. Activities in the area revolve around local festivities, concerts, and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, rivers, and forests).
Project hosted by
In order to take care of people and the environment, the REV is committed to sustainable development. To improve conditions for campers, it has decided to install eco-friendly showers at its campsite this year. The water will be heated by solar energy, which will allow the campsite to be independent of electricity and thus reduce its impact on the environment.
