Before or during the camp, larger parts of the trees in this sector are cut and mechanically removed, while shrubby vegetation, invasive and weedy plants, and the remains of cut trees are manually cut, collected, pulled out, and burned.
Accommodation and food
Volunteers would be accommodated in the premises of the local community center (in this case, bathing facilities would be organized in the building of the Primary School, located 10 meters from the accommodation and equipped with showers and changing rooms next to the sports hall). Meals for participants are organized so that volunteers prepare their own breakfast (the refrigerator is stocked with food supplies), while local women from the village are engaged to prepare lunch and dinner. Food supplies are purchased locally, directly from producers. Our goal is for the largest possible share of the approved funds to be spent locally, i.e. to ensure that the money remains within the local community, thereby demonstrating its potential and encouraging tourism development. Restaurants located in Kupinovo also provide catering options for volunteers.
Location and leisure
The ecological camp is being implemented in Kupinovo, while the camp activities are related to the Obedska Bara Special Nature Reserve. It takes place at various locations in the reserve, depending on the assessment of the organizers and partners.
