Work:

During preparation and setting phaseSignposting setting for the different spaces in AVANCA 2026;Poster and pending poster distribution;Exposition setting and Organization;Adaptation of the Egas Moniz school classrooms for workshops attainment;Workshop related Video-Informatics equipment installation and testing;Cleaning and preparation of the Auditorium of Avanca for competitive sessions of Cinema and Video;Organization of the Egas Moniz Schools polyvalent;Airport reception and welcoming of the AVANCA 2026 international guests ( directors, actors, producers, technicians, etc...Cleaning and maintenance of spaces and sanitary installations used by the IWC.During the Festival:Check-in support for the AVANCA 2026 participants and guests;Maintenance of the Workshop rooms;Cantina support;Support during competitive sessions;Cleaning and maintenance of the AVANCA 2026 common areas;After AVANCA 2026 ending:Collecting and verifying workshops equipment;Line-up and cleaning of the used spaces on their initial configuration;Collecting the material of the exhibitions and wrapping the works/material;Collecting AVANCA 2024 posters and pending posters in Avanca and in Aveiro region.

Accomodation and food

Volunteers will be accommodated in the school s classrooms. They will have access to mattresses. The school has bathrooms and changing rooms with hot water, open 24 hours/day.Regarding food, breakfast will be prepared in the school canteen, where volunteers will have at their disposal the most varied items for its preparation.Lunches and dinners will be either in the school canteen or in local restaurants, always accompanied by the monitors.

Location and leisure

Avanca is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Estarreja, covering an area of 21.07 kmI and home to 6,189 inhabitants. It is located in the District of Aveiro and borders the municipalities of Murtosa, Ovar, and Oliveira de AzemEis. Avanca is served by National Road 109, the A29 motorway, and the Northern railway line.The workcamp is based at the heart of the festival, in the Escola BEUsica Prof. Dr. Egas Moniz, which also hosts the workshops, the secretariat, and the conference area. The school is situated in the center of the village, allowing volunteers to easily access essential services such as supermarkets, laundries, pharmacies, and other facilities. Volunteers in this work camp are involved at multiple levels of the organization, providing essential support for the success of this International Meeting. As AVANCA is a space that fosters the exchange of ideas, creative fusion, and cultural interaction among professionals, students, and enthusiasts of cinema and multimedia, IWC volunteers naturally become immersed in this dynamic, international, cultural, and creative environment.In addition to moments dedicated to cultural activities and exploring the surrounding areas, the Cine-Clube de Avanca offers a variety of experiences that provide insight into the social, cultural, and gastronomic realities of Avanca and the wider region between the cities of Aveiro and Porto.

Smoking is not allowed inside the rooms, in the outdoor areas of the school.The camp has night-time surveillance.
