Brief description and main aims
To facilitate interaction between international volunteers and our students, fostering international cultural exchange to enhance mutual cultural understanding and respect, thereby broadening our students' global perspectives.
To have international volunteers immersing themselves in Taiwanese culture, especially its culinary traditions. Through interactive experiences, we aim to share and explore the unique food cultures from various countries, promoting cultural diversity and appreciation
Goals of Hosting Volunteers: The primary goal is to provide students with exposure to different languages and cultures, fostering a global mindset and intercultural competence. Through interactions with volunteers, students can improve language skills, develop cultural awareness, and gain insights into different worldviews.
Collaborative Learning Environment: CTBCU encourages a collaborative learning environment where both volunteers and students engage in meaningful interactions, fostering mutual learning and personal growth.
Cultural Exchange Programs: CTBCU may also organize cultural exchange programs, events, or outings to further enhance the volunteer experience and promote cross-cultural understanding among students
Cultural Exposure
Cultural Experience Sharing: Volunteers are encouraged to share aspects of their culture, traditions, customs, and experiences with the students. This exchange aims to broaden students' cultural understanding and foster mutual respect and appreciation for different cultural perspectives
Volunteer tasks
Classroom Language Exchange: The volunteer will actively participate in classroom sessions, facilitating language exchange with students.
Cultural Experience Sharing: The volunteer will take part in arranging and participating in various cultural exchange activities that introduce them to Taiwanese culture. These experiences might include engaging in traditional customs, or exploring local traditions. By immersing themselves in these activities, the volunteer not only gains a deeper understanding of Taiwanese culture but also becomes a cultural ambassador, sharing their own culture with the local community
Roles and Responsibilities: CTBCU hosts volunteers to facilitate language exchange sessions within classrooms, enabling students to interact with volunteers from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Volunteers may engage in conversational activities, language practice, and discussions to enhance students' language proficiency.
Volunteer requirements / Skills
Being enthusiastic, passionate, and outgoing.
Having a genuine interest in exploring and sharing experiences related to food, travel, and cultural interactions.
Possessing basic proficiency in English language, as English proficiency is essential for effective communication within the classroom language exchange sessions and cultural sharing activities.
Location
CTBC University of Techology is located in Tainan's Xinshi District, approximately a 5 to 10-minute walk from the train station, making it very convenient. There are two 7-11 convenience stores nearby, offering easy access to shopping for daily necessities. In addition, the city center is just a 5-minute drive away, allowing volunteers to reach supermarkets and savor a variety of culinary delights at renowned eateries. This location provides volunteers with convenient living conditions and a delightful food experience
Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)
The volunteers will be accommodated in school dormitories, with each dormitory room shared by four individuals.

Pocket money: Volunteer will receive a small allowance for pocket money up to 88.63 Euros/month
V.GO Membership fee: 10.000.000VND (Valid til 31/12/2026)
Participation fees (Visa support, training, accommodation and foods during stay):
Short-term from 1 to 4 months: 540 Euros/1st 04 weeks & 100 Euros for extra week.
Long-term: 3.000 Euros/6 months or 4.700 Euros/12 months.
