Via Petrarca 45, Flambruzzo di Rivignano. Project hosted by
The ecovillage of GaiaTerra (progettogaiaterra.com) was created in 2017 with the goal of living a low-impact life in contact with nature, created in a former furnace located in a natural reserve. It follows the principles of community life, based on bioconstruction materials and permaculture.
After purchasing the space, it went under lot of restorations, and in 2018, the Association was founded. Unfortunately, last March an arsonist burned one of the main activity rooms, which now needs to be rebuilt as quickly as possible to guarantee the continuity of their activities.
Here, learning and creating go hand in hand, thanks to the participation and trust of all the people who have passed through, bringing their wonderful support to the project. Additional comments
The diet is vegan for everyone. We practice moderation, so it is advisable not to drink for leisure but only consciously and not to offer alcohol to people whose background you do not know. The ATM is 2 km away.
Please kindly note that there is an additional incoming fee of 50 Euros for all volunteers applying through Partner organisations or Contacts of the SCI network. This fee covers hosting costs, insurance, a small travel fund to enable disadvantaged volunteers to join projects and administration costs. Requirements
If you have qualifications as a carpenter, painter, or plasterer, that's great, but otherwise we accept everyone. The work is not particularly hard, and if necessary, you can change tasks. Community life includes cleaning the premises and cooking for the community. Volunteers will be guided in all activities and can choose where they feel most comfortable.
