Supporting crop production through pesticide-free and environmentally friendly farming. Volunteers will also cut grass on abandoned fields and help restore farmland. They may also take part in other farm tasks such as spreading compost and harvesting.
Accomodation and food
Volunteers stay at an old Japanese house next to the the host's. Volunteers cook by themselves by turn. Smoking is not allowed. The host has a cat.

It is located in Gose city, Nara pref. which is about 50 km southeast of Osaka. Other activities - Hot spring, temples and shrines. Short trip to main city in Nara.

This project is actively working for SDG2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGS15 (Life on Land). This project is co-organized with "Sugiura Farm" that engages in organic farming for pursuing food safety and an environmental-friendly society.In the Gose area, many local farmers have become too old to continue working on their farms. The host, Mr. Sugiura, took over their fields and has been maintaining them to make the land productive again.
He grows rice for Japanese sake, cultivates organic vegetables, makes his own fertilizer, and even processes the harvest into various products.

Study theme - Volunteers will acquire the knowledge of organic farming and experience countryside life. Participation fee - 18,000 JPY (100 EUR by the rate on 2025 Nov. 3rd) of "NICE Volunteers" fee need to be paid in advance either by Card or PayPal. This is used for the project preparation/ coordination such as the transportation of the staff/ camp leaders, visa invitation cost, publications, etc. while the meals and the accommodation are provided by the local host by free (so, your fee is not used for those things!).
