During this workcamp, you will actively take part in the daily life of the Maison and its various activities: collective living (cooking, cleaning, organization, etc.), intercultural exchanges (meeting local residents and association volunteers), and more.
The aim of this workcamp is to raise awareness of sustainable development through exchanges and intergenerational knowledge transfer. The work will mainly consist of maintaining the Maison’s vegetable garden (sowing, transplanting, hoeing, watering, harvesting, processing). In addition, you will help maintain the compost bins, the phytodepuration pond, the chicken coop, and the bamboo grove.
Accomodation and food
You will be accommodated in dormitories in the large international welcoming house of Les Bateleurs, where you will share daily life with international volunteers. Located a few hundred meters from the festival site in Montendre, the house offers all necessary facilities: showers, kitchen, garden, bamboo grove, etc.
A vehicle will be available to travel to the work sites and to explore the surrounding area.
Food will be provided for breakfast and meals. A food budget will be planned and managed by the group leaders. Meals will be prepared in turns by participants and international volunteers, while respecting environmental values, local resources, and everyone’s cultural backgrounds. Hot and cold meals, as well as vegetarian and vegan options, will be offered.
You will also take part in the daily chores of the house, particularly cleaning, alongside the resident volunteers, and it will be essential to carefully respect the shared living space.

Sustainable development, particularly permaculture, is a core theme rooted in the values of the association and is intended to be transversal across all of our actions. For this reason, Maison des Bateleurs–Solidarités Jeunesses has been developing an environmental hub for several years, including a phytodepuration pond, dry toilets, composting facilities, an organic garden, and the use of surrounding natural resources, among other initiatives.
Directions to meeting point
La Maison des Bateleurs, 4 Avenue de Onda, 17130 Montendre, at 3:00 PM.
