You will be involved in the creation of a collective garden and its landscaping on the association's site. You'll create wooden structures and delimit the planting areas and the functioning of the collective garden for the year N+1. 25h/week
Accomodation and food
The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodated on the REV site in individual tents (remember to bring your sleeping bag). You will have access to sanitary facilities close to the camp. What's more, if weather conditions deteriorate too much for camping, a shelter a few meters away will be available. Meals will be provided and prepared in turn by participants.
Location and leisure
The project will take place in the southern part of Mont-Lozère, in a rural area (department 48). Shaped by erosion, this territory is criss-crossed by several rivers, geological formations such as the causes and numerous forests of many species. The nearest town is Mende, with 16,000 inhabitants.
Far from France's metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. The region's activities revolve around local festivities, concerts and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, rivers, forests).
Project hosted by
The workcamp will take place at the REV's permanent home, a former vacation camp at an altitude of 1,200m. The site is located at the foot of Mont-Lozère in the heart of the Cévennes. The REV association took possession of the site in spring 2022, and hopes to turn it into a place of welcome, exchange and encounter. This workcamp will be part of the project to transform the colony into a living space. This project will enable you to learn how to build wooden and stone elements to fit out the exterior. This will help transform the site into a nurturing and supportive space where international volunteers, workcamp volunteers, visitors, local residents and others can meet.
