The work for volunteers is designed to be diverse. On rainy days, tasks include cleaning and organizing the school and its garden. On sunny days, volunteers will remove invasive plant species (such as wild lupine and Himalayan balsam) from roadsides and clear overgrown areas.Additionally, volunteers will assist in setting up and dismantling traditional celebration events, helping in the community cafe, and other related tasks. The work is a mix of hands-on outdoor activities and indoor maintenance, ensuring a meaningful and engaging experience for all participants. Most importantly the volunteers will be able to immerse themselves into this lively and welcoming community with rich cultural traditions.
Accomodation and food
Accommodation is provided in a traditional Finnish countryside house with four bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a sauna. Volunteers will prepare their own breakfasts and snacks as a group. Lunch will be provided on-site at the work locations. The local host prepares the daily dinner with the assistance of volunteers.
