The practical work of this Volunteer & Study Camp builds on the efforts of previous international volunteer camps and supports the work of the memorial, for example by cleaning information boards and memorials or carrying out gardening work on the grounds.
The building currently used to accommodate the volunteer camp will be converted into a seminar house in the future. The main task will be to begin sorting materials that will no longer be needed and to collect items that will become part of a Volunteer Camp archive. Overall, the programme will combine manual work with educational study sessions.
Accommodation and food
The volunteers will stay at the memorial site. You’ll sleep in a building on bunk- or field beds or in tents, so please bring a sleeping bag and sleeping mat. There are showers, toilets, a kitchen, a common room and WiFi available.
The building in which you will stay was used for administration during the concentration camp time. Soon, it will be renovated and converted into accommodation for visitor groups. About the food: All the meals will be prepared by the group. The cooking will be shared among participants by alternating small groups.
Location and leisure
