Dive into the heart of the Citrus association site in Laguépie, where you will take part in a creative and collective project dedicated to renovating the facade of our large house. In small groups and guided by our supervising team, you will imagine and create a participatory and socially committed mural that will beautify the place while conveying messages of peace, togetherness, and respect for diversity. Everyone will be able to express their creativity while learning to work as a team and use different tools and artistic techniques.
Alongside this artistic project, you will also take part in daily life on the site. You will help maintain the Citrus garden by caring for green spaces and learning the basics of gardening. Depending on the season, you will also help harvest vegetables from the vegetable garden, which will then be used to prepare meals. In turn and in groups, you will also be involved in organizing collective life, particularly through the kitchen workcamp, where you will prepare tasty seasonal meals for the whole group.
This project will be a great opportunity to meet young people from different countries, share daily life with international volunteers, exchange ideas about your cultures, and enjoy friendly moments in a natural and peaceful setting.
Accomodation and food
You will stay on the CITRUS association site in shared single-gender tents for 8 to 12 people, with wooden floors and beds. You will have access to compost toilets and solar showers entirely built by young people from previous workcamps. A washing machine is available for reasonable and supervised use. There is no Wi-Fi connection.
You will take part daily in maintaining the site and preparing meals. Choices will be made collectively to ensure a balanced diet based on your tastes, dietary needs, and seasonal local products. Cooking is part of the project in the same way as construction activities.
Location and leisure
Location: Laguépie is located in the green, hilly area of Quercy-Rouergue, near the Aveyron gorges, about 100 km northeast of Toulouse, between Albi and Villefranche-de-Rouergue.
Leisure: Afternoons will be dedicated to various leisure activities and discovering the region. You will be able to go hiking, canoeing, visit beautiful medieval villages or historic towns — not to mention swimming directly in Laguépie in the Viaur River.
With the support of the supervising team, you will also be active in proposing activities and entertainment: debates about your favorite movie, local dance initiations from your region, discussions about current issues that interest you, karaoke nights, or international quizzes — your ideas are welcome! There will also be the famous international meal, open to everyone, where you will prepare typical dishes from your country or region — a great way to make people travel and exchange about interculturality!
