Work:
Volunteers will take part in the Feast of Na Tcha as members of the parade team. The workcamp also includes cultural and educational activities such as a Cantonese language workshop, a Macao World Heritage lecture, and a Chinese paper cutting workshop. In addition, volunteers will support preparation and related volunteer services connected to the Feast of Na Tcha and its promotional activities. The type of work is mainly cultural, educational, and community-based volunteering.
Accommodation and food:
Accommodation will be arranged at either Pousada de Juventude de Cheoc Van or Base de Desenvolvimento de Actividades Juvenis em Hác-Sá. Participants will stay in shared dormitory-style rooms with basic facilities. The participation fee covers accommodation and basic meals, with three meals provided daily. Volunteers will have the chance to enjoy a variety of local cuisines, including Macanese, Chinese, and Portuguese-influenced food.
Location and leisure:
The project takes place in Macao, a small city on the south coast of China known for its unique blend of Chinese and Portuguese heritage. The Historic Centre of Macao is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leisure activities include cultural experiences, a World Heritage introduction, and free time to explore the city.
Project hosted by:
The project is hosted by the Macao New Chinese Youth Association (MNCYA), a non-profit youth organization founded in 2003. MNCYA focuses on uniting youth, serving society, and encouraging social participation. It has established an international voluntary service network, organizes the Macao International Volunteer Camp, and is a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Volunteer Program and the UNESCO Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS).
Directions to meeting point:
A pick-up service will be provided from Macao International Airport, Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge (HZMB Macao Port), or Macao Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal to the accommodation. Detailed meeting point information and schedule will be announced later.

The Feast of Na Tcha is one of Macao’s most important traditional cultural events, featuring religious rituals and a vibrant parade. Na Tcha is a Taoist child god believed to protect people and ward off evil. The official languages in Macao are Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and Portuguese. The local currency is Macao Pataca (MOP), and Hong Kong Dollars are widely accepted.
