Camp of Animation for Children

Work:

Art and acting workshops, outdoor games, and sports (approximately 5–6 hours a day). During the second week, the Grest camp starts on Sunday the 28th in the evening and ends on Sunday, 5th July, in Piazza Umberto I, in front of the church. From Monday to Friday, activities take place in Piazza Gramsci (the municipality’s multipurpose center), starting at 9:00 am, lunch break at 12:30 pm, and afternoon activities from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm (Saturday: water park in Sommatino, Province of Syracuse; Wednesday: lunch with the children and evening with the parents).

Accommodation and food

Volunteers will be accommodated in a municipal facility (or a private apartment) equipped with a kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. Cots will be provided (please bring sleeping bags and towels). SCI volunteers will be responsible for cooking and cleaning. Wi-Fi is not provided; however, a SIM card can be purchased at the airport upon arrival.

Piazza Gramsci - San Cono
Visits to the nearby tourist towns (Caltagirone, Piazza Armerina), and seaside in Gela: bring your swimming suit! :)

Requirements

Volunteers are required to have experience working with children; any activity proposals are welcome.
