Work
Guardians of Nature is a volunteer project focused on environmental awareness and direct action in nature. Taking place in the beautiful natural setting of Santa Bárbara, Altea, the project brings together international volunteers to participate in two summer workcamps surrounded by olive trees, pine forests, and Mediterranean landscapes.
The workcamps are held on a rural estate that includes two houses (one for sleeping and one for cooking), bathrooms, washrooms, terraces, a swimming pool, and outdoor communal spaces. The first camp runs from August 1st to 14th, and the second from August 15th to 29th.
Activities are nature-based and designed to promote environmental learning and collaboration. Volunteers will take part in a variety of tasks such as:
Beach clean-ups
Hiking excursions in natural areas
Participation in an archaeological excavation
Group discussions and environmental workshops
These camps provide a screen-free, outdoor lifestyle that fosters environmental responsibility, teamwork, and cultural exchange. Volunteers are expected to be proactive, adaptable, and open to learning through hands-on experiences in nature.
A good command of English is required; Spanish or Valencian is an asset. Please note that the weather will be hot, and conditions are rustic and fully outdoors—perfect for those ready to immerse themselves in a meaningful summer surrounded by nature.
Accomodation and food
The facilities of Finca Santa Bárbara have the optimal requirements for carrying out this project, since they are located in a rural enclave, with toilets, showers, games area, a picnic area, camping areas for and a tents and swimming pool. Summer sleeping bag is necessary.
The food is provided by our campleaders and the volunteers will be cooking in groups by the guidance of our campleader. Tents will be provided by the organization yet you can bring your own tent if you wish.
