Would you like to go on a camp with various activities in the forest? Then you've come to the right place! In the municipality of Heidenrod, your help is needed for many different tasks: Together with the foresters, you will build a wooden bridge and clean the forest of rubbish. A tree planting campaign is also planned, but because we do not yet know how dry it will be in summer 2024, the trees will be ordered, but it is not certain whether this task can be carried out: planting different tree species, for which the planting areas must also be prepared with brushwood piles. The newly planted Douglas firs (tree species) must be protected from deer, for this you must check, repair and renew the protection. You will also repair existing gates. Unfortunately, there are also many dead spruces (tree species), which you have to remove and from the remaining wood and brushwood you will build piles of rice, which are very important for the protection of birds and small animals. Along the forest edges of the Mehrbach meadows, you will remove barbed wire remnants for animal and environmental protection reasons. The work in the forest is always very dependent on the weather, so the work can still change before the camp starts. .
Accomodation and food
You cook together. Money for the food shopping is provided to you. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any allergies when registering.
You will be accommodated in a well-equipped leisure centre with shared rooms in Langenseifen. It is located in the middle of the forest and has a huge outdoor area
Location and leisure
This is really a camp for people who like to be in nature, you live and work idyllically in this camp. You will be accommodated in a very rural setting and can make campfires as a group and enjoy the time together. We will also provide you with some outdoor materials. There are excursion options, but you will need to plan together as a group (but with the minibus provided) what you want to do over the weekend. You can visit the cities of Mainz, Koblenz, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt or take a trip to the Rhine.
Highlights: lots of local sporting activities thanks to great contacts with the local clubs, good accommodation, just outside Mainz and Frankfurt, very good and friendly guidance from the forest!
Camp location: Hessen: Heidenrot, Limburg an der Lahn 28 km, Mainz 40 km; Frankfurt 70 km
